About This Site

Welcome! Snowboard-women.com is a mixture of snowboarding resources, advice, observations, and all-around fun - specifically from the perspective of passionate, Southern California-based, snowboarding women.

We’re a group of fun-loving chicks who are lucky enough to live in Southern Cal - where we can surf and bike to our heart’s content in the summer, and then take a short 5-hour trip to our favorite mountain, Mammoth, as much as we can each winter. (Then there’s our local mountains at Big Bear that are fun to visit to keep in practice too.)

If you like what you read here, please subscribe to receive posts!

We have a YouTube channel with snowboarding videos, too, and a Flickr page with our most recent snowboarding trip photos. Or just follow us on Twitter where we’ll post regular updates when we take our snowboarding vacations.

So, let’s meet the authors, shall we?

Erica

Erica at Snowboard-WomenI’ve been boarding since 1999. I know, that is kind of a late start. (I make up for it with my enthusiasm!) Nonetheless, I get to the mountains to ride as often as I can, work and money allowing.

My favorite mountain is Mammoth Mountain. I especially love it now that there’s the convenient gondola & the great apres-ski nightlife in the Village. In addition to Mammoth, I try to hit Tahoe and Vail at least once a year each, as well as expanding to new further-reaching resorts.  In past seasons we’ve made it to Whistler & Jackson Hole. Hope to get to the Alps next year!

You can email me at erica at snowboard-women dotcom.

Juicy Jessie

Juicy Jessie - woman snowboarderJuicy Jessie is a rare bird… super sweet, fun, crazy, and a kick-ass snowboarder to boot. She will punch you in the face if you so much as look at her funny. No, she won’t. But she may put her cigarette out in your eye. Okay, no, she’s not really that violent. But she does pack some sass and you better watch out, especially on the dance floor.  She’s one of my best friends in LA, and I actually met her on a snowboarding trip with a group of strangers!  Ask us about this story sometime.

Drop Juicy an email at jessie at snowboard-women dotcom.

The Lodge Potato

The Lodge PotatoThe Lodge Potato prefers to keep her identity secret. She is a whip-smart, sassy, and funloving girl… who just happens to not snowboard. WHAT? But we still love her, and drag her up to the mountains as much as we can. Hell, at least she’s great fun in the car. And she does recon for us for the best places to hang out in the towns we visit. We just knew there was a reason we kept her around.

The  Lodge ‘tater can be reached at lodgepotato at snowboard-women dotcom.

We’d love to hear from you if you are into snowboarding! Drop us a note in the comment box below.

Top of Mammoth, grr! See you on the mountain!

  5. Hi William - I went to Mt. High once but the conditions weren’t great and apparently I only went to one part of the resort. I know it’s closer than Bear by like an hour. And so much snow this season so far, I may have to re-check it out!
